Executive Profile: Bart Fried

Bart Fried joined GrayGlass as a consultant in 2005 and changed to full time Director of Business Development in 2008.  He is directly responsible for innovation, seeking new markets and growing the company.  Bart also works with the international supply chain and plays an instrumental role in the set up and management of the GrayGlass import program.  What started as a hobby of amateur Astronomy and telescope making for Bart has led to specializing in the history of optics and optical design.  He guides the company on the most specialized and exotic glass projects, ones that require a technical understanding of optical work.

Bart has 28 years of business experience behind him.  Prior to GrayGlass he was a partner for three years in a metal plating business.  Before that he owned and managed a plastic rotational molding company for five years.  He spent the first 16 years of his career as an Independent Manufacturers Representative, specializing in the lighting and glass industries.

As a member of the GrayGlass family, Bart is affiliated with the Illuminating Engineeting Society (IES) and also the American Institute of Architects (AIA).  He holds a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture from Penn State University.
